SUPPORT NEEDED

Frog Pond West End Weed Management

Dear Frog Pond Lake Residents,
As discussed, and supported by members at the 2024 Frog Pond Members’ Annual Meeting, and as voted at the May 5, 2024, FPPOA Board Meeting, the FPPOA Board has agreed to temporarily take on Frog Pond weed management this year (2024) to enable the WCID to focus resources on repairs to our dam this fall. Details of this decision here
Also discussed and supported by members at the 2024 Frog Pond Members’ Annual Meeting, the FPPOA Board agreed to circulate via email detailed plans to tackle the weeds in the West End of the lake and open up the natural water flow into the lake, with a request of monetary donations to cover the cost. FPPOA dues and Fish Fund donations will NOT be used for lake weed management.

  • Please find HERE considered proposals and chosen plan of action to be taken by the FPPOA Board to tackle the west end weeds, and open up the flow of spring water into the lake.
  • The FPPOA Board has set a fundraising goal of $5000 to complete this work, and we are happy to report that we have already collected more than one third of our total goal with $1690 in donations received to date.
  • If you have not yet donated to this effort, or can consider donating more, we hope that you will consider doing so. 100% of your donation will go to the west end effort and is 100% tax deductible (tax receipts issued via email upon request).
  • Donations can be made by check or Venmo (download fillable form).

In addition to the plans above, the FPPOA Board will continue to:

  • monitor for the invasive plant Giant Salvinia;
  • continue to provide guidance to residents on proper shoreline weed management (each lot owner is responsible for their own shoreline);
  • entertain additional weed management requests from FPPOA members;
  • keep members updated via newsletter and Frog Pond Website www.frogpondlake.com.

All residents are reminded that they must clean and drain all boats, canoes, kayaks, trailers, live wells and pumps, ensuring they are clean, free of any visible plants, mud or debris, before entering Frog Pond Lake and to avoid the use of chemical agents for weed management along shorelines. These critical actions must be taken to ensure our ability to manage the health of Frog Pond Lake. Any questions, concerns, or suggestions should be directed to the Frog Pond Property Owners Association Board at frogpondlake@gmail.com.

We thank you in advance for your diligence and commitment to preserving the beauty and health of Frog Pond Lake.

Sincerely,
Kate Johnson, President, FPPOA

Sarah Parsons, Secretary, FPPOA

Loy Owens, Maintenance, FPPOA

Greg Thompson, Treasure, FPPOA

Julie Askew, Communications, FPPOA
